CHILDREN OF CROW

Based on a novel by Yuliya Yakovleva

Description

This is a story of a boy named Shurka, who bravely fought for his family, overcoming illusion and hopelessness, and went up against the Crow himself. The set design is formed by the yards of Leningrad and the historical events of our country; the birds can speak here and the walls have ears. The book “Children of the Crow” is the first story from the cycle “Leningrad Tales” by Yulia Yakovleva.

The story has a form of a fairy tale, but is built on real events with a metaphorical presentation of the plot. But this is not “a fairy tale that is a lie, but has a hint in it”. This is a true fairy tale about what we would like not to remember when thinking about the past of our country: about the parents disappearing in 1938, the black funnel cars that took to the camps and how people disappeared in no time, as if by magic.
