SUPPORTED BY DANISH ARTS COUNCIL AND ROYAL EMBASSY OF DENMARK IN MOSCOW
Award winning artist and director Jesper la Cour has had an impressive success during 20 years doing ?Telling Theatre? and giving workshops in 14 countries. This year he will share his latest experiences from the successful Master Class held at the Meyerhold Center, Moscow, where 25 actors, writers and directors had the chance to tab the fabulous energy produced through experiencing Jesper?s method of Story Play. In Novgorod Velikiy the workshop will be for students from university and colleagues and focus on how to create interactive telling theatre performances by using his method, a five phase structure on classic literature.
- In 1996 Jesper la Cour founded The Telling Theatre based in Copenhagen, Denmark. It?s a touring theatre performing for children, youth and adults. The Telling Theatre has received several awards for their innovative work and strong expression. The Telling Theatre has performed for the Queen of Denmark several times and is supported by the Danish Ministry of Culture and the Danish Arts Council.
The special qualities are simplicity, presence and dialog. Through interaction and a sense of humor the stories are given just that touch that makes the situation coming alive and makes every performance becoming a unique experience. The Telling Theatre has produced ten performances, played them more than 1600 times for about 150.000 kids and 15.000 adults. We have performed all over Denmark, in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Northern Ireland, India, Tanzania, Russia, England, USA and Canada.
