Once upon a time, there were a husband and a wife, and they had no children. And so they would have lived out their days alone, if this husband had not met a Bear in the forest who asked him for being his son. And the miracles began as the son-the-bear settled in the house of the old people: the rich houses, the crystal bridges, and the bride who was the royal daughter.
The fairy tale in the performance is generously complemented with folk embellishments of a story, songs and rites. The elements and motives of the national costumes, patterns, ornaments are woven into the costumes of the characters, and the musical arrangement of the performance is based on the live sound of folk Karelian instruments: kantele, youhikko, reed pipes, sygudek. The play « Son The Bear» is simultaneously put on in Finnish, Karelian, Vepsian and Russian languages.
In 2017, performance «Son The Bear» won four main prizes and had a real success at the XIV National Award and Theatre festival for children “Harlequin”.
