«ROMEO AND JULIET» by William Shakespeare
Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare is one of the eternal plots of world drama. The story of the famous Verona lovers in Ruzanna Movsesyan’s play «Romeo and Juliet» is told by means of a comedy of masks and is addressed to a teenage and youth audience.
What can be opposed to violence? What choice makes a person a person? We wanted to talk about this with the children, talk about the most important thing: what is love and humanity, what is enmity and murder? To talk without discounts for age, without sparing or simplifying, because the time in which we live does not spare or simplify. But despite the seemingly non-childish themes, the language of the play is a “childish” language, the language of primitive art, the theater of masks and the puppet theater in the square, bright colors and characters, as if drawn by a child’s hand.
