Co-production COMPAGNIA RODISIO/TAK THEATER LIECHTENSTEIN (Italy, Liechtenstein)
SUPPORTED BY CONSULATE GENERAL OF ITALY IN ST.PETERSBURG
ITALIAN INSTITUTE OF CULTURE IN ST.PETERSBURG
A dance performance about the first brotherhood and the first murder in human history combining the family history and street dance, exploring nature of violence itself by the modern dance and action. Two dancers are on the stage and photos from the family album as footage. An opportunity to come to empathy and understanding of each other through modern dance.
Performance is a unique opportunity to see the modern Liechtenstein theatre and Italian director’s work who has tried to pass the Bible parable through hip-hop culture, and the language of modern street dance is challenging in this story. In today’s reality Cain and Abel from mythology are two teenagers aiming both aggression and friendship because of the age and not forgetting about rivalry and their family. The language of modern dance tells about a jealousy and mercy, irrevocable consequences of youthful acts and the director’s view focused not on the heroes of old times but on two modern young people, family tragedy and the future history of mankind.
